Week 4 - Facebook

Facebook is arguably the most well-known social media platform. Advertising on Facebook is an easy and efficient way for a business to advertise and build engagement with consumers. In the article we read this week, the statistic was given that 2.6 billion people use Facebook, which means the audience for your business would be rather large. Facebook ads can include words, videos, pictures, as well as links to websites which allows companies to be creative in the media they use for advertising. Facebook advertising uses audience research to better gauge where your businesses advertisements need to be shown.


In order to create a “target audience,” they ask questions and use profile demographics in order to decide who should be receiving certain ads. The audience is dependent on many things, such as country, interests, and events attended. You can also set a budget to ensure you don’t go over spending, and schedule times in order to regulate advertisements, if desired. When using photos, there are multiple different options and layouts to create the most visually appealing advertisement. Facebook offers many different styles of advertisements so that businesses can discover what works best for them.
