Week Six - AI and Data Science

This week, I read chapter 6 of Dr. Kelsey’s book on AI. Chapter 6 is all about learning the ins and outs of artificial intelligence to use it to its maximum value. It discusses how it is important to learn about all of the details in order to begin developing it within your business. The chapter talks about resources you can use to improve your knowledge on artificial intelligence. There are some websites such as DataRobot that have helpful tips about learning artificial intelligence and implementing it. 


The chapter moves on to talk about machine learning. Machine learning is an aspect of artificial intelligence that has a major impact on companies today. Data science is another important part of AI that is required to know if you want to be successful using artificial intelligence. By learning the data, you can ensure that the information being used by your machines and AI is accurate and being computed correctly. There are many apps and resources out there that can help people learn about data science in terms of artificial intelligence.

This week, I focused on going through the teachings in order to start preparing myself to take the Hootsuite certification exam. I have found the information they teach us to be very beneficial, and I think it will be useful for me in my future career. Week Two - Top Skills

LinkedIn’s job search feature has proven to be very useful - and is something that I am rather familiar with. I found the job post for my current internship through LinkedIn and was able to secure the spot. After searching for social media marketing jobs, I was surprised to see how many volunteer positions came up. The other jobs that were posted listed useful information such as salary or hourly range, if benefits were offered, and the location and company of the job. Many social media marketing jobs were looking for a bachelor’s degree plus a few years of experience in the field. LinkedIn also provides helpful features that allow you to narrow down the search by using different filters.  For the data from 2018 provided by CASA, I was interested to see what kind of skills were most sought after during that year. Week 13 - Freelancing

Being a social media manager was originally the career path I wanted to take after graduation. Creating content and analyzing engagement seemed like an aspect of business that would be super interesting. A social media manager, in my opinion, is vital to new businesses nowadays. Without an active social media presence, a lot of people don’t have any idea what your company is about. It allows you to be creative, while also providing valuable advertising to the business that would help them generate more customers, leading to more profit.  When I worked at an ice cream shop in high school, the owners asked me to help run their freshly created Tik Tok account.
