MKTG 3348 - Week One: Introduction

My name is Cami Gardell and I am currently a junior studying Marketing and Entrepreneurship. This week, I read through the syllabus and wrote down all of the assignments that are due for the course. I had a blog created from a previous class I had taken with Dr. Kelsey, so I just used the same one instead of creating another. This semester I am excited to learn about content development, and search engine browser optimization. I think both of these topics are very important in the business field.

Seeing how Facebook is one of the largest and most well-known social media platforms, the way they advertise their social impact is extremely important. Week Eight - SEO Certifications

Before taking this class, I did not know much about SEO. I had no idea that it was important to a business and didn't know anything about it. After taking this class, I realize that SEO is a very important aspect in promoting a business. If businesses choose to use SEO to improve their rank, they are more likely to receive clicks from people on search engines. It is a great form of marketing that allows companies to utilize their skills and content to make it easier for consumers to find their things.  I looked through the different certifications and thought that some of them might be very useful. Seeing how these certifications can separate you from other candidates, it seems worthwhile to put in the time to get the certifications. It is interesting to me that SEO is the highest profitable digital marketing service, because I never heard of it prior to taking this class. Week Seven - Hootsuite

This week, I was able to set up my student Hootsuite account and play around with the features. It was relatively easy to get set up. This is a great platform where I will be able to gain a lot of valuable information about social media and how it can be used effectively in business. Once I have gone through all of the lessons and trainings, I can take the exam to become certified. If I end up passing the exam, it will be a great certification to add to my resume, especially since social media marketing is the career path I would like to go into.  After exploring on the website, I came across the Social Marketing Course tab. I briefly skimmed over the material that was presented, and found it to be very interesting. It covers topics such as social marketing basics, building an advocate community, and social content marketing.
